The College is committed to supporting an organization that reflects the rich diversity of the communities it serves. It is recognized that a diverse and inclusive environment for the Board, committees and staff are important to ensure that the College is an effective health profession regulator. As such the College is celebrating the approval of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy with the launch of CCBC’s DEI video. The College’s DEI Policy is a framework that was developed to align recruitment and retention processes with the values of an inclusive culture that we strive to create and sustain. The DEI Policy was also established to support inclusive practices and respectful decision making through the incorporation of diverse perspectives.

DEI Policy Background Information

In 2021 the Board approved a draft Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy based on the recognition of emerging inclusion policies of other regulators. Following the approval, a brief consultation was conducted with the Board, committee members and staff. In 2022, the Board and staff undertook DEI training to support further reviews and implementation of the DEI Policy.
