On July 15, 2020 the College of Chiropractors of British Columbia (CCBC) advised that it was in the process of analysing the use of routine and repeat spinal radiography, such as X-rays, and anticipates amendments to the Professional Conduct Handbook (PCH) as a result. These draft amendments are now posted for public consultation:
- DRAFT Amendments to PCH Part 15 – Diagnostic Imaging and Appendix L – Redline
- DRAFT Amendments to PCH Part 2 – Consultation and Examination – Redline
The CCBC is asking that any comments concerning the draft amendments be sent in writing to the CCBC prior to 4:30 p.m. on September 8, 2020. A summary of comments will be published following the consultation period.
The research to support this review is available here: “The clinical utility of routine spinal radiographs by chiropractors: a rapid review of the literature.” This research was conducted by Ontario Tech University at the request of the CCBC.
