//New Public Appointee: Mr. Piotr Majkowski

The College is pleased to announce Mr. Piotr Majkowski as our new public appointee on the college board, effective November 26, 2018. Mr. Majkowski will be serving a one (1) year term with the College of Chiropractors of British Columbia.

Mr. Piotr Majkowski is an instructor of nursing ethics and mental health practice at Douglas College. In addition to his recent role with CCBC, Piotr also serves on the board for the REACH Community Health Centre. As a nurse, Piotr has worked at Langley Memorial Hospital and at a Downtown East Side community health clinic. His previous involvement in health policy with the World Health Organization and the BC Nurses’ Union will bring invaluable experiences to the college board in the upcoming year.

Piotr holds a master’s degree in public health from SFU, where he specialized in health inequities and work disability. Piotr and his family immigrated to Canada from Poland in 1991 and settled in the Fraser Valley. In 2009, Piotr moved to Vancouver where he still resides with his partner Dan. Together they run a small community-supported farm in their spare time.
